Astrology has become almost therapeutic during the pandemic, with apps like Co-Star and Sanctuary making the spiritual practice more accessible. The new app recently became available to Chicago residents. Rachel Lo, co-founder and CEO of Struck, said Chicagoans made an overwhelming number of requests on the website for the app to launch next in the Windy City. Nadine Jane, astrology adviser for Struck says the app can help users narrow down potential romantic partners suited to their birth chart. By knowing that their moon is in Scorpio, you may have more patience as they take their time opening up to you. Or by knowing your Venus is in Leo and so is their Sun, you both will have no problem making it Instagram official if and when that day arrives.

One of the biggest concerns for online daters is not knowing if the person they're connecting with has a dark past. Garbo provides low-cost background checks by collecting public records about violence or abuse, including on arrests, convictions and restraining orders. In partnership with Match Group, Garbo's thoughtful and groundbreaking consumer background check will enable and empower users with information, helping create equitable pathways to safer connections and online communities across tech. Match Group said that after Garbo is implemented on Tinder, it plans to make the service available on its other brands, which include Match and OKCupid. The company said its investment will also allow Garbo to increase its scale and adoption across other tech platforms.

Tinder is an American geosocial networking and online dating application that allows users to anonymously swipe to like or dislike other profiles based on their photos, a small bio, and common interests. Once two users have "matched", they can exchange messages. Tinder launched in within startup incubator Hatch Labs   as a joint venture between IAC and mobile app development firm Xtreme Labs.
